The San Francisco Symphony partners with Bay Area dance company Post:ballet to present Playing Changes, an intimate interdisciplinary performance.
A series of seven pieces performed by a Post:ballet dancer with SF Symphony Associate Principal Second Violin Helen Kim, Playing Changes is an exploration of collaborative art during a time marked by isolation and uncertainty, and a celebration of the resilience and creativity of the Bay Area artistic community. All works were filmed at Oakland’s historic 16th Street Station and feature the choreography of Robert Dekkers.
Playing Changes was filmed in compliance with local and state COVID guidelines. Performers appearing closer than 6 feet were members of the same COVID container throughout rehearsals and at the time of filming.
Playing Changes is produced with generous support from Emre Ozdemir.
San Francisco Symphony’s presentation of Playing Changes is generously sponsored by Sakurako and William Fisher.
Free content on SFSymphony+ is presented in partnership with the San Francisco Arts Commission.
